77-04-01-1-01-CherieSMC Purchase

Cherie Currie, Runaways lead singer, Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, April 1, 1977. Cheap Trick opened. Of course she's singing "Cherry Bomb." You might find this sold elsewhere without my permission, but it's not an authentic, hand-signed, custom-printed photo. Cherie’s is a very talented performer, quite an artist and a very sweet woman website. Check out chainsawchick.com.

77-03-01-2-6-LitaSMC Purchase

Lita Ford, Runaways. I've consulted with several people (including some Runaways) and we can't figure out where/when I took this, so I'm guessing it was Santa Monica Civic Auditorium because the stage is large, March 1, 1977?? Remember, this was during a time when women were NOT on stage, playing and looking like that! She just glows, and that's not a Photoshop nor darkroom trick! It's on the negative!

77-08-27-1-35-JoanLitaWhisky Purchase

Runaways Joan Jett and Lita Ford, dueling guitars, Whisky, July 27, 1977. Slash magazine used this shot and I was so proud! It's a rare, early shot of female guitarists who rock hard and rock steady! The dynamic tension between them, on so many levels, pops out at the viewer as it transports us back to that era.

78-03-09-01c-JohnnyJoan Purchase

Johnny Rotten, Sex Pistols and Joan Jett, Runaways in Whisky booth, mid-January, 1978. The Pistols imploded after their San Francisco show, January 14, 1978 and headed for LA. Johnny and Steve Jonesy, from Jonesy's Jukebox, Indie 103.1, continue to live on LA's west side.

From the moment I met Joan in early 1977, I thought of her as a female Johnny Rotten in terms of individuality (she also was a huge Ramones fan and I have great shots of her w/Dee Dee and others). I love this shot cos they both have the same sullen, won't look at me attitude. I love it when people strike the same pose naturally. A moment wherein they both reacted identically. Synchronicity.

I just found out this shot was used on a picture disc. I assume it's been ripped off and used a lot, but I only published it as a black and white image somewhere. It was so hard to track published photos and get paid and still shoot.

ASK
first, you might make a friend. Use my photos so I benefit too. These are MY photos.
Got a cool site or blog? Maybe we can link up. Better to ask than get angry letter/email from people who will stop you.

ANY usage, especially commercial or editorial, of any purchased, licensed, or otherwise obtained print(s)/scans, etc is strictly prohibited. Violates STATE and FEDERAL laws. That means if you use my photos on something (t-shirt, mag, print, etc) and make money, you robbed me. You robbed everyone, including yourself, of money needed for my archive. How does that make you feel?? That's not how punks treat other punks, especially us pioneers!

That includes, but is not limited to, scanning, reproduction, distribution in any manner, publishing, merchandise, posting, broadcasting, transmitting (podcasts, online, existing or future technology), etc.
