How I wonder what advice Exene is giving Belinda.
I love the juxtaposition of Exene's long, slender hand with her wide-eyed focus on Belinda.
The Go-Go's opened for X A LOT of times. If not for X, I doubt if there would be a Go-Go's. X was THE major punk band in LA by 1979 and released their landmark "Los Angeles" in spring 1980. The Go-Go's opened to X's full houses with an accepting audience. Other audiences were not always so kind nor patient. The Go-Go's grew with X's assistance, as did other bands such as the Blasters.

Rosemarie and Belinda, Starwood, April, 1980.
Rosemarie Patronette, aka Wyline, loves this shot because I captured her unaware of the camera, so in the moment. When I found this shot, I called and asked if she had a black dress with pink, green or hot pink piping, so very 1960's. She laughed and said she couldn't remember what she wore last week. When she saw the slide, she wrote me that he remembered the clutch purse because she had them in all different colors. Leave to us women to remember little details so many years later.
My biggest regret about this photo is not knowing Rosemarie then. She was always so nice to me and I couldn't understand why. She's beautiful, poised, well dressed -- why would she want to be my friend? We finally connected after the punk music show at the Autry Museum, June 18, 2004. She is now one of my dearest friends. She keeps in close contact with Belinda. Her lips are sealed!

ASK first, you might make a friend. Use my photos so I benefit too. These are MY photos.
Got a cool site or blog? Maybe we can link up. Better to ask than get angry letter/email from people who will stop you.

That means if you use my photos on something (t-shirt, mag, print, etc) and make money, you robbed me. You robbed everyone, including yourself, of money needed for my archive. How does that make you feel?? That's not how punks treat other punks, especially us pioneers!
